The following links will take you to a variety of California groups that work to help women inmates. Some of the groups may be faith based, but please check them out. They offer invaluable assistance!

Prison Fellowship Ministries A nationwide and international organization that partners with local churches to help prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. They have many resources available. They have published an excellent little book that is available online, titled "Making It: A Prison Survival Guide" . You may want to send this to your loved one in prison!

Kairos Outside Kairos Outside is designed to support the families have had to deal with an incarcerated loved one. The spouses, parents and other relatives of the incarcerated often "do time" right along with their loved ones. It is important for them to know that they are not alone. This program does not require a specific religious affiliation, and I found it incredible.... editor
