Most inmates at VSPW are allowed quarterly packages. There are several vendor companies that have been approved by VSPW, and who have a list of approved items that may be sent in. There are certain limits on what you can send in. Be sure you check with your inmate to see what she is allowed. The quarters go from January through March (1st Quarter), from April through June (2nd Quarter), from July through September (3rd Quarter), and from October through December (4th Quarter).
WARNING: If you order a package from a vendor, and it is not RECEIVED at the prison by the last day of the Quarter, it will be counted as the NEXt Quarter's package! This is especially important to remember on Ceasar Chavez Day, which is a State holiday. It falls on the last postal day of the 1st Quarter, and even though the Post Office is open, the prison is staffed by State employees -- and the VSPW mail room is not open that day!!!

This list is brand new, and there may be some confusion at your local prison. Check with your local IFC and your local administration to make sure they will accept packages from the companies on this list!!!
